From Congestion to Connection

Description
Traffic jams, air pollution, and inefficient mobility systems affect quality of life, economic growth, and sustainability in cities worldwide. Congestion pricing is one promising solution, yet it faces political, social, and technological barriers. Many citizens see it as unfair or punitive, while mobility providers struggle to integrate it into seamless travel experiences. At the same time, AI, real-time data, super apps, gamification and social media dynamics are transforming how people move, connect and make daily choices. Together, these tools could enable cities to create citizen-backed, adaptive traffic systems that are fair, effective and even rewarding. How can we design digital-first, AI-powered mobility solutions that help cities, mobility platforms, and technology providers implement fair and engaging congestion pricing systems? We invite you to explore how super apps, social media dynamics, gamification, and AI-driven optimization could transform congestion pricing from a punishment into a tool for positive change. Could citizens actively shape mobility policies through digital participation? Could traffic pricing adapt in real-time to balance fairness, sustainability, and efficiency? What would make people trust and adopt a digital-first congestion pricing solution? How could social media-style engagement (likes, communities, influencers) be used to nudge sustainable mobility behaviors? Could AI simulations and digital twins help cities and citizens co-create fairer pricing models? What features would make a super mobility app indispensable in everyday urban life?
