Balancing The Overflow Of AI

Artificial intelligence is rapidly spreading to different digital services. Most organizations around the world are looking at ways to improve customer experience or efficiency through AI. AI is great for many things, but it is also extremely unsustainable because of the power it uses compared to “old-fashioned” digital processes. This poses a huge question: where do we draw the line between beneficial use of AI and useless waste of computing power? In this project we want to focus on the consumer’s point of view; how should the applications and services we use let us know when AI is used and how beneficial it was?
How might an everyday application “report” the use of AI to the user? How could we determine as users whether the use of AI provided added value for us? How might we visualize this value vs sustainability burden for the users in the app?
We are looking for students interested the future developments of AI, sustainability, visual design, UX design and software engineering. Join us to create more transparent digital services!
