Drone Illumination For Safety
Description
Drone fleets have been used as a successful alternative for firework shows in big events all around the world. Meanwhile in Finland there are some very innovative ways to utilize lighting technologies to replace road signs in the winter when the darkness and snow covers the traditional ones. What if we could use drones to create temporary lighting for emergency situations or general safety in cities?
In this project we want to concept and prototype different kinds of lighting tech with drones and test interesting applications for future drone usage in cities. What kind of lighting tech would work best with drones to project images, colors or shapes on the ground or building walls? How can we utilize fleets of drones to, for example, create temporary traffic guidance during emergencies? How could the autonomous drone fleet be controlled and their actions modified easily?
We are looking for students interested in drone tech, lighting, software engineering, safety and security.
