Added Value for Neuvola Services
Description
Parents in Finland receive overwhelming support from the public healthcare sector, with services like the globally renowned “maternity package” for newborns and maternity clinic service (neuvola in Finnish) that support both the child and parents during the early years. The maternity clinic service ensures that every baby in Finland receives regular check-ups and that any potential challenges are identified early on. These services are designed not only for the child but also for the parents, offering guidance and support to help them care for their child and themselves in the best possible way. But can we make the service even better with the help of third-sector organisations?
In cases where a child is healthy and developing as expected, what added value could third-sector organisations (NGOs, volunteer organisations) bring to families? Especially today when mental health issues, social isolation, and children's lack of exercise are becoming widespread concerns, could the neuvola system ensure that every child is introduced to, or at least offered, hobbies or areas of interest? How would the neuvola service look if it combined public healthcare providers with third-sector organisations? What should be offered, and when? How could this cooperation work seamlessly to reduce the strain on an already overburdened public sector?
Join this project if you are passionate about children’s mental health and hobbies, or about enhancing the collaboration between public and third-sector organisations!
