Future of Farming 2
Description
World agriculture faces a number of major challenges in the coming years: rapid growth in world population, climate change, increased demand for energy, scarcity of resources, rapid urbanisation, dietary changes, ageing populations in rural areas of developed countries and increased competition on world markets. In the EU, the area of land available for agriculture is gradually decreasing with the increase in forestry and urbanisation, so productivity must increase if production is to be maintained or increased.
The future of agriculture depends on research, innovation and capacity building in the agri-food sector that answers the questions: How will farmers produce with food security? What will be the most sustainable forms of agriculture? How will farmers adapt to social changes and learn new skills? How will technologies drive new ways of farming? Join us in exploring the farmers and consumer preferences in the agriculture industry!
Alongside you, you’ll have your facilitators but also the teacher Susana Mendes (smendes@esa.ipvc.pt), who will all guide you through the entire process.
