Designing Drone Base

Description
There are grand visions of how autonomous drone fleets could be used in various situations from entertainment to safety and industrial use cases to national defense. If we want to utilize autonomous drones and fleets in larger scope, we need to have stand-alone, autonomous drone bases that shelter, charge and even maintain the drones between the operations. This is especially crucial for sparsely populated countries like Finland. There are some designs for drone bases already done for simple use cases, like surveillance for industrial area, but they are usually meant for urban areas with “nice weather” and access to basic infrastructure. But what if the drone base would need to function in the deepest forests of Finland? How should a drone base for Nordic conditions be designed and built? What kind of other features the base should have apart from charging the drones? You can assume the base has access to the main electricity grid, but otherwise would need to be autonomous. If you are interested in drone tech, mechanical design, product design, electrical engineering, software engineering or communication tech, this project is for you!
