Large events, such as music festivals or conferences, are carefully prepared and planned, but there’s always chance of something unexpected to happen. Whether it is cancellations, extreme weather conditions or larger than expected visitor count, the organizers need to prepare for dynamic and varied situations. What if we could use drones to create temporary lighting for events to add value to the visitor experience? In this project we want to concept and prototype different kinds of lighting tech with drones and test interesting applications for future drone usage in events. What kind of lighting tech would work best with drones to project images, colors or shapes on the ground or building walls? How can we direct people to the right place at the right time using drones? What kind of added value could be created with drones compared to fixed lighting solutions? We are looking for students interested in drone tech, lighting, software engineering, event organizing and accessibility.
