My Grandma Would’ve Scored From That!

Description
Replaying certain situation repeatedly has been a key component of videogames’ gameplay mechanics for ages. Also, at least as long television spectators have got frustrated over “their team’s” player missing an open scoring opportunity, ‘My grandma would’ve scored from that!’ With today’s technology, it is possible to mix these two by pausing a stream and replaying a situation, e.g., in a football match virtually. That opens exciting venues for completely new ways of storytelling and alternative viewpoints. How might the replaying technology be used as a natural part of a streamed broadcast? In which sports contexts would utilizing the technology create the most interesting additional value? Could such technology provide value beyond the watching experience, e.g., through learning and further understanding of some nuances? This future-probing project requires envisioning and intensive concepting with fascinating, new technologies and use cases. If you want to explore the deep end of future of live broadcasting, and especially if sports are somewhat your cup of tea, this is the project for you!
