Accessibility Design in Metaverse

Description
Metaverse offers nearly unlimited opportunities to plan and design virtual spaces and, for example buildings. Although the modern planning and design processes are advanced the increased complexity in designing public spaces and buildings still leads to mistakes when it comes to accessibility, and by accessibility we don’t only mean special needs groups design, but general “smart” and convenient design. There are examples of failed accessibility design everywhere and we are interested looking in metaverse to help us to avoid those mistakes in the future. How would a design environment in metaverse look like if it would be used by designers, architects and construction sector together? How to create a space where you could easily sketch and quickly test the designs by, for example observing the virtual space, placing different objects in it or even host a virtual event to test different lighting options in the space? Ín this project we want to start building the first demos of such environments and explore the different approaches where multiple stakeholders could participate in the design and make sure accessibility is taken into account at every step!
