Imagine a project where no one is the official leader, but everyone’s voice is heard, and decisions are made fairly and openly. That’s the basic idea behind Decentralised Autonomous Organisations, or DAOs*. In a DAO, everything is run by a set of rules written into code on a blockchain, like a super-secure digital ledger. These rules are called smart contracts, and they make sure that decisions are made transparently, based on the votes or actions of the group. What if we could use DAOs to make companies' decision-making more transparent? How might we reduce bureaucracy within companies by leveraging DAOs? Could DAOs help make a company's decisions clearer and more understandable for shareholders, customers, and society?
