Description
In today’s economy and politics, ensuring transparent and democratic decision-making is crucial. Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs), commonly used in cryptocurrency trading, operate through blockchain-based smart contracts and could enable community-driven decision-making without a central authority. Unfortunately, still today there’s a lot of corruption in decision-making in many countries. This undermines democracy and creates a vicious cycle where citizens feel powerless and eventually grow tired to try to hold the decision-makers and politicians accountable. What if we could use DAOs to build pockets of local democracy in these types of corrupt countries?
How might local democracy look like if DAOs were used to bring transparency and clear rules for decision-making? How far could the local decision-making be taken if used technologies such as DAO? How would, for example voting through DAO system look like? What are the risks in using DAOs for governing?
This is a project for people interested in politics and societal changes driven by technology. Join us and let’s offer options for people who don’t have a voice!
