Broadcasting events without interaction, only with presenter or commentator speaking and consumers watching is a tradition of the past. Today’s broadcasting platforms, such as Youtube have taken competition to the next level and interactive elements in different forms are becoming a must in the event broadcasting context. There have been successful concepts also in traditional broadcasting in Finland, such as Futistietäjä, that has brought massive audiences to interaction with the program and production. As the importance of interaction increases, there’s a need to figure out the next captivating concepts for audience activation.
What kind of concepts might captivate the audiences with a low threshold, thus creating more immersive experiences? How much should the production put effort and sacrifice screen time for creating a fruitful platform for the activation? How might a concept, which lures in new audiences and provides additional value for existing ones, look like?
This project gets its inspiration from various interaction mechanics from all walks of life and mashes them up for elevated viewing experience in televised broadcasts. Join the project to play around and test, what creates traction for audiences for enjoyment and immersion!
