Theme introduction

Data is a double-edged sword in the modern society. It enables marvelous services personalized for each individual, but on the other hand, most of the sharing of our personal data happens without us knowing about it. As data becomes an everyday necessity in our lives, what if we stop discussing and worrying about it? Who will benefit the most from the data society and what are the biggest benefits of thriving data economy?

While the world is figuring out rules for the data game, giant technology companies are nudging both consumers and decision-makers towards certain kind of future. Changes will happen, the question is who are going to be the drivers of the change in our data-driven societies. What happens when data has even bigger role in our daily lives? What will be the next technological gain and pain points when data society is a normal thing for everyone?
